Some Facts About Me

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia College and State University with dual majors in Physiology and Organic Chemistry. I next obtained a Master of Science degree from the University of Georgia in Toxicology and later a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the same school in Biochemistry and Spectroscopy.

I’ve worked for 34 years at PerkinElmer Instruments, first as a Field Product Specialist and later as a Senior Staff Scientist. While at PE I was involved in the molecular spectroscopy (UV/Visible/NIR, Fluorescence, and Infrared) product lines. My areas of expertise where technical support of sales, customer support/training, applications design and development, software specification/evaluation, and instrumental specification/design/evaluation. I am the author of numerous application notes, conference presentations, and webcasts. I am also the holder of several patents on integrating sphere design in conjunction with PerkinElmer and Labsphere.

Upon retirement I joined forces with Zyomic Technologies to become a consultant with first PerkinElmer and later Agilent Technologies for their molecular spectroscopy product line. My primary responsibilities at Zyomic where sales support, applications support, development of on-line web-based resources, and development of marketing strategies.

I am now an independent consultant in the field of molecular spectroscopy, and I am currently under contract with Shimadzu Scientific Instruments.
